Our client is looking for a Domestic Gas Engineer. The base office is in Mott Street, covering North London/Essex borders.

Working as part of a team of experienced Domestic Gas Engineers, duties include undertaking planned and reactive service, repair, maintenance and installations of gas appliances (including cookers, fires and boilers) in domestic properties, and in accordance with relevant manufacturer’s instruction and guidance.
You will also be responsible for dealing with emergency call out repairs, and have strong fault finding/diagnosis ability for any Gas appliance.
Call Out is a feature of this position, on a rota-basis, for which a standby payment is made, along with a per-call-out payment.
You will be Gas Safe Registered and hold L3 or ACS qualifications including: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, unvented hot water and Energy Efficiency.
You will have proven experience in providing high quality property/housing gas maintenance work ideally with the Social Housing/Local Authority sector, possess a high level of literacy and numeracy.
Work Experience:
Previous experience working as a Gas Engineer in the Social Housing/ Local Authority Sector a distinct advantage.
Skills:
Experience of fault diagnosis, service, repair & maintenance of domestic gas appliances.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
To complete planned and reactive service & repair of commercial, (and occasionally domestic), boilers, install gas boilers (or appliances) in commercial (and occasionally domestic) properties, including communal premises such as blocks of flats, schools, commercial offices, public houses, all in accordance with manufacturer’s instruction and guidance.
You must be Gas Safe Registered, and have the relevant Domestic and Commercial Gas qualifications.
You will have proven experience working to deadlines, ideally within the social housing/local authority sector, undertaking general Gas maintenance work. You must be flexible in your approach, a good team player, able to proactively identify further works when on-site, and have excellent fault finding and diagnosis skills.
Experience:

- Commercial Gas S&R and/or Installations.
- Experience of working in large plant and boiler rooms.
- Experience of domestic gas S&R and fault diagnosis.
Skills / Knowledge:

The client is based in East London and has been supplying Electrical & Security services to a wide range of clients, for 50 years. They have grown from a small family-run company to an established highly respected SME.

Qualifications/Knowledge:• Electrical City & Guilds / NVQ• 18th Edition (preferable)• Qualification of electrical engineering HNC preferred but not essential• In-depth knowledge BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations• A sound understanding of Construction Design Management (CDM)• Excellent communication and presentation skills.• Strong negotiator skills• IT Skills: Microsoft Office (to include Advanced Excel)• CCTV and Security industry experience/knowledge would also be preferred but not essential as training can be given.
