Job Description:

An international specialist modular sub-contractor is looking for an Assistant Construction Manager, to work across their London sites. They work on a variety of projects ranging from London’s premier luxury developments.

They are looking for someone who is dynamic and wants to take the next step in their career and learn vital experience in the construction industry. You will be ideal if you live locally and want to improve your skills as much as possible.

Qualification / Cards:

  • Must be degree qualified
  • Experience in construction is not necessary but it is a positive if you do 

Additional Information:

  • Assist to plan, oversee, and direct construction projects from conception to completion, including organising the schedule of work, costings, and budget
  • Assisting the Construction Manger to manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis. This includes and is not limited to supervising the labour force, monitoring sub-contractors, checking materials, inspecting work, and overseeing quality control to ensure the project is delivered on time and on a budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
  • Review the work progress daily and report regularly
  • Prepare external and internal reports pertaining to job status
  • Produce regularly internal reports on progress, incidents, scope variations and lessons learned
  • Assist in planning the work and oversee the buying of necessary materials and equipment
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables
  • Attend and coordinate pod deliveries on site
  • Attend tests on site and produce accurate documentation accordingly
  • Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals

  • Check design documents with architects, surveyors and engineers or factory DPM team
  • Promote and maintain health and safety at high level of standard, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
  • Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with main contractor, suppliers, and their representatives to inform them of the progress on the project
  • Communicate with any consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and others involved in the project
  • Plan to prevent problems and deal with any unexpected ones that may occur during the project, reporting them to executive/directors
