Overview:
The Senior M&E Contracts Manager is responsible for establishing, leading and delivering electrical contracts to achieve profitable, on-programme and high-quality outcomes. The role requires effective leadership of installation teams, robust client and supply-chain management, and full adherence to company procedures, safety standards and contractual obligations. Reporting to the Contracts Director, the Senior M&E Contracts Manager plays a key role in project planning, financial control, delivery, handover and post-completion support.
Duties:
Pre-construction
- Client Liaison
- Programming/sequencing
- Produce and deliver against Procurement Schedules
- Assist with the production of purchasing targets and the financial tracker
- To work either in isolation or in conjunction with the Managing Surveyor to identify any potential Variations throughout the pre-construction and construction period
- Consider project logistics and produce project management plans
- Establish project labour strategy and resource plans
- Attend Contract Review Meetings throughout the Pre-construction and Construction period
- Attend Design Meetings internally and externally
- Ensure early supply chain engagement
- Establish all necessary operational plans to satisfy client requirements, including but not limited to quality, health and safety
- Provide estimating support/backup
Short-Term Planning & Monitoring:
- Agree on contract and labour programmes with the Directors
- Monitor progress of the projects and update the programme accordingly, and communicate the programme and subsequent changes to all affected parties
- Intervene and agree on action plans to recover delays where possible
- Ensure timely requests for the delivery of all information that is on the programme critical path
- Identify variations to the contract that may impact the programme
Procurement:
- Develop a relationship with suppliers and arrange discounts/contract support, etc
- Arrange for the timely delivery of materials
- The company ordering procedure must be adhered to
- When sub-contractors are needed - ensure enquiries and/or tender packages are sent to sub-contractors and suppliers so that orders can be placed in time to meet the programme
- Sub-contractors must provide a completed PQQ and be fully approved before sub-contract orders can be placed
Finance:
- Ensure all variations are submitted on time with all supporting paperwork
- Ensure all orders are entered on the Contract Order Book
- Use a financial tracking system
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts for each project
- Prepare Financial Tracker for review every month
- Ensure weekly reporting of labour activity on site
- Ensure all incoming invoices or applications for payment from suppliers and subcontractors are checked and signed off to release payment on time
- Ensure all time-sheets and expense claims are checked and signed off on time
- Compile, submit and negotiate the final contract account
Client Relations & Liaison:
- Attend the Project Launch meeting when the project is ready for handover
- Arrange our banners/site boards to be displayed wherever possible
- Represent the company at site meetings
- Take and distribute meeting minutes when it is agreed that it is the Company's responsibility to do so
- Maintain a flow of timely information to the client with regard to progress and cost
- Obtain agreement to variations
- Justify and obtain formal agreement of unavoidable delays to avoid penalty clause claims
- Resolve any client-related issues or disputes referred by Site Managers
- Receive client instructions and communicate them to all affected personnel
- Arrange commissioning and ensure paperwork is correct
- Where required, ensure MCS Registration is completed on time for the application of the Feed-in Tariff or Renewable Heat Incentive
- Where required, provide assistance to the client/end user in applying for the Feed-in Tariff or Renewable Heat Incentive
- On completion and handover, oversee the compilation of the O&M Manual for the contract containing all relevant information, user instructions and guarantees and arrange for its delivery to the client in the requested format
- On successful completion, request testimonials where possible
- Take photographs of completed projects for marketing purposes
- Assist the Directors in arranging and hosting promotional events and corporate entertainment
Operations and Workforce Management:
- Monitor organisation and methods to ensure maximum efficiency
- Set common operational standards throughout sites
- Ensure that an adequate workforce is available to enable the completion of the contract to programme, whilst minimising payroll costs
- Hold regular progress review meetings and review labour requirements
- Ensure all personnel recruitment and induction procedures are completed to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, eg Right to Work, Inland Revenue Construction Industry Scheme, Health & Safety at Work, etc.
- Liaise with sub-contracted trades to ensure good relations are maintained, and our performance requirements are clearly communicated
- Review sub-contractor performance on completion of contracts, giving feedback to Directors where appropriate
- To provide mentoring and support for less experienced CM's, either project-specific or general guidance
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Monitor methods and output to ensure that the required quality standards are achieved at minimum cost and that the requirement for snagging is minimised
- Agree on the snagging list with the client
- Communicate snagging list to all affected parties, monitor for timely completion and obtain client sign-off
- Monitor contract to ensure compliance with Building Regs and any other prevailing legislation, as well as current MCS Standards where applicable
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure RAMs are adequate and signed by every member of the installation teams, and a signed copy is kept in the Office Contract H&S File. Monitor and update the RAMS throughout the project, and ensure that all operatives sign each time there is an amendment
- Attend regular RISC (Review and Instigate Safety & Care) Meetings to discuss health & safety and environmental matters with Directors and other Contract Managers
- Monitor site practices and routines to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including the Company H&S Policy, to minimise the likelihood of accidents
- Ensure training needs are identified and request additional training as necessary
General:
- Carry out such other duties as are consistent with the jobholder's knowledge and skills and are necessary for the satisfactory completion of contracts or for the attainment of the goals of the business

Person Specification
Qualifications & Professional Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 minimum requirement, Level 6 preferable or equivalent electrical qualification (essential)
- Approved Electrician status (Essential)
- SMSTS (Essential)
- Relevant H&S training such as IOSH Managing Safely (advantageous)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Experience:
- Experience managing M&E/electrical contracts from pre-construction to handover
- Proven record of commercial and financial control of projects
- Strong history of client liaison and stakeholder management
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors
- Ability to monitor programmes, recover delays and meet project milestones
- Experience preparing and negotiating variations and final accounts
- Knowledge of MCS, FIT and RHI processes (desirable)
Technical Skills:

Key Responsibilities

The Role:
Day-to-day work will be varied, dealing with different systems to suit bespoke HVAC projects, including standard split Air Conditioning, VRV systems, residential Ventilation and specialist Wine Cellar cooling. Our customers have come to expect a high quality from our work; therefore, a high amount of care is required. Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum
Our client is a leading and well-established company specialising in fire suppression systems and sprinkler projects across the UK. They are now seeking an experienced Sprinkler Project Manager to oversee multiple sprinkler installation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end delivery of sprinkler installation projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.
- Coordinate with design teams, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, LPC, BS EN12845, and NFPA standards.
- Prepare and deliver project progress reports and client updates.
- Drive efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the fire protection, sprinkler, or building services industry.

Role Overview
As an Electrical Estimator, you will estimate small works and complex tenders ranging from £100k to £2m. You will ensure that all work is safe, compliant, and aligned with Electrical installation regulations. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the estimating process while working closely with project teams and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate take-offs from drawings and schedules, inputting data into estimating software.
- Produce detailed scopes of work with clear breakdowns.
- Ensure estimates are fully quantified, commercially robust, and compliant.
- Review tender documentation and drive a thorough understanding of client requirements.
- Compile and oversee tender submissions, ensuring completeness before submittal.
- Provide variation costings to support project teams where required.

- Conducted risk analysis and prepared contractors’ proposals, tender programmes, and method statements.
- Maintain and update records of tenders, bids, and estimating workload planners.
- Collaborate with the M&E Buyer and supply chain to ensure accurate prime costs.
- Follow up on submitted bids, manage feedback, and support the transition to the contract stage.
- Provide monthly estimating reports to management.
- Attend client meetings, site meetings, and site surveys as needed.
- Advise the Electrical Operations Manager on labour and material requirements.
- Communicate health & safety information to the QHSE Manager.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to support delivery.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Electrical Team, ensuring estimating standards are upheld.

The Role:
You will be largely self-managed and involved with working in Natural Gas, LPG, and Oil, mainly on commercial and industrial sites, carrying out fault finding, maintenance, repairs, and annual servicing. Some smaller elements of domestic work are also required for our loyal private client base.
The Candidate:
- Should have previous experience within a similar role
- Should be qualified in commercial & domestic natural gas, LPG & oil
- Holding certification in any additional field, i.e. Part P, COMCAT, F-GAS, etc, would be advantageous
- Hold current CSCS card
- Hold a DBS dated within 3 years, and be willing for an enhanced DBS check to be carried out
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- Must hold a full, valid UK driver’s licence (max. 3 points)
- Must be fit and healthy to carry out a wide range of physical activities
- Comfortable with time management
