Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair commercial and domestic gas systems and appliances.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions.
  • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on gas installations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Complete job documentation and reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full UK driving license.
  • Valid Gas Safe registration.

  • Domestic Gas Tickets
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

What will your role look like?

• To represent the company as an additional QS on our NICEIC registration

• Carry out post-inspection checks on electrical works to ensure that works carried out by engineers are done within regulations and to a good standard. Produce post-inspection documents and report findings to the Divisional Manager

• Work as part of a team to support engineers out on the field with technical help

• Help produce all relevant documentation and carry out annual NICEIC inspections

• Produce and carry out toolbox talks with engineers

• The role is primarily office-based

• Support Senior managers with contract support

• The individual must be able to work on their own and be self-motivated

• Training and continual development will be provided

• Help with the progression and training of engineers and apprentices

• Helping with engineer appraisals

The role is mainly office-based for an Estimator & Quantity Surveyor located within a sensible commuting distance of North Greenwich. The successful individual will be responsible for all day-to-day tasks associated with estimating, Multiple small to medium project cost control, BOQ production, cost management and monitoring, cost planning, monthly cost reporting and client billing.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initial meeting with the client and assessing project scope
  • Producing accurate measures & take-offs for projects
  • Producing estimates & tenders for new projects
  • Produce and update procurement schedules for all projects
  • Prepare the required documents to issue to subcontractors to enable them to tender effectively for work packages
  • Identify appropriate subcontractors for all aspects of the works
  • Prepare client cost reports and billing
  • Manage and monitor variations and changes
  • Assist in the financial appraisal of new opportunities
  • Work closely with architects and other professionals
  • Navigate and understand building regulations & codes
  • Process project paperwork and travel to sites as required
  • Monitor costs and expenditures across the construction process

Job Requirements

  • Experience in managing cost on projects within industrial and commercial sectors
  • Skills in Estimating, Cost Control, BOQ, Cost Management, and Cost Forecasting and Planning
  • Experienced working with a principal building contractor
  • Experienced in creating detailed cost reports
  • Solid experience in the construction industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Professional certification is preferred but not essential
  • A driver's licence is essential. The vehicle will be supplied
  • Being Conversant with Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, Bluebeam, and other program software such as Asta power project would be an advantage
  • Experience of JCT & NEC contracts
  • Educated as a minimum to HNC/HND/Degree level (or equivalent)
  • Experience of Pre-Qualification and Tendering process for complex bespoke projects

The full remuneration package will be discussed at interview stage. In the region of 60 k

Job Type – PAYE Permanent position  7am  – 5 pm  Monday to Thursday and 7am – 4pm Fridays
