Salary: The initial salary will be £35,000.00 – £60,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Job Description:

The Specialist Works Manager is primarily tasked with developing and expanding the Small Works Department. This role involves managing minor projects and maintenance contracts, with project values up to £100,000.

Main Role: To develop and build the minor projects and maintenance department:

Project Development and Maintenance:

  • Develop and expand the Specialist Works department.
  • Seek, secure, and deliver minor works projects with values up to £100,000.
  • Offer and oversee post-contract services following project handover.
  • Plan and complete all health & safety requirements.

Business Development and Client Relations:

  • Secure new business and nurture relationships with existing clients.
  • Contact past and current clients for electrical maintenance and small works.
  • Work with the Marketing department to develop strategies and targeted marketing plans.

Team and Process Management:

  • Manage a dedicated team of electricians, electrical, and admin staff.
  • Develop and implement processes and software systems along with the commercial team
  • Ensure effective operational structures and systems to support the Account’s needs.
  • Develop management resource plans and effect changes as required.

Supplier and Subcontractor CoordinaRon:

  • Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure work is delivered on time and to high standards.
  • Liaise with subcontractors for maintenance, quotes, orders, and H&S audits.
  • Review subcontractor performance and manage all paperwork and invoicing processes.

Commercial and Financial Oversight:

  • Report to and be accountable to the Directors.
  • Maintain commercial, technical, legal, and insurance knowledge.
  • Ensure adherence to clients’ budget requirements and minimise financial risks.
  • Develop quotes/business cases for additional works.

Risk Management and InnovaRon:

  • Identify business risks early in projects and manage them effectively.
  • Establish and maintain risk registers and contingency plans.
  • Embrace innovation as a key management capability for the sustainability of the department

OperaRonal Excellence:

  • Coordinate workflow for all client and internal requests according to SLAs.
  • Liaise with customers and teams for PPM and service visits.
  • Manage Minor Works Requests, including purchasing opera/ons.

Post Contract Works:

  • Liaise with relevant contract managers for project completion and defect rectification.
  • Contact clients for post-contract packages and respond quickly to issues.

Commercial ObjecRves:

  • AIain Gross Profit margins as directed.
  • Contact existing and previous clients to offer a range of electrical services.
  • Respond to calls from clients for work and plan the maintenance team’s work.

General DuRes:

  • Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure high standards in all operational and commercial activities.
