About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious cost consultant/project manager to join our client’s growing hotel and leisure team based in Birmingham. The candidate should ideally have a minimum of three years’ experience in the hotel/leisure industry.

They need to be self-motivated, have their own transport, be willing to travel nationwide and have the ability to work on their own initiative.

This company is a multi-discipline consultancy offering Clients in-house Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent, Building Surveying and Principal Designer services across a broad range of commercial sectors on major development projects ranging from £1 million to £100 million.

The candidate will have the ambition and drive to deliver a high-quality professional service and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels and good client-facing skills. They will have effective problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions, be a good team worker, with the ability to work with the minimum of supervision using their own initiative with a flexible approach to work with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.

The role will involve working as part of a team to deliver new build and refurbishment projects for a hotel chain. The day-to-day activities will include the monitoring of progress on site, attending site meetings, answering queries, issuing variations, cost reporting and ensuring compliance of the specification for Practical Completion. It will also include the placing and coordination of FF&E orders. The candidate will be working closely with the Client’s Project Manager to ensure delivery of the correct quality and specification required by the Client.

Requirements:

  • Must live within an hour of Birmingham.
  • Previous proven QS experience.
  • Must have full UK driving license and own transport.
  • Ideally, have a background in consultancy.
  • Experienced in Hotels, Retail and Office.
