Job Description:
Our client is a leading provider of innovative HVAC and renewable energy solutions, committed to driving decarbonisation and energy efficiency across the built environment. They specialise in cutting-edge heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, with a strong focus on sustainability and low-carbon technologies.
We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Engineer to join the team, bringing technical expertise in HVAC systems alongside a deep understanding of renewable energy solutions and decarbonisation strategies.
Role Overview:
As a Senior HVAC Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of HVAC and renewable energy systems. You will be instrumental in delivering energy-efficient, low-carbon solutions to clients across various sectors. This role requires extensive experience in HVAC engineering, along with expertise in renewable technologies such as heat pumps, solar thermal, and district heating systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- HVAC & Renewable System Design: Develop and implement energy-efficient HVAC and low-carbon solutions, incorporating heat pumps, district heating, solar thermal, and other renewable technologies.
- Decarbonisation Strategies: Advise clients on sustainable heating and cooling solutions, helping them meet carbon reduction targets.
- Project Management: Oversee the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, ensuring quality, budget, and compliance with all regulations.
- Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on HVAC and renewable energy technologies, supporting junior engineers and technical teams.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all designs and installations adhere to UK building regulations, F-Gas compliance, and sustainability standards.
- System Optimisation & Maintenance: Lead troubleshooting, diagnostics, and energy performance improvements for installed systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to deliver tailored HVAC and decarbonisation solutions.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in HVAC engineering, with a strong focus on renewable energy and decarbonisation.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of heat pumps, district heating, solar thermal, ventilation, and high-efficiency HVAC systems.
- Qualifications: Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., F-Gas, CSCS, SMSTS) are highly desirable.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other HVAC design tools is an advantage.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for diagnosing system inefficiencies and implementing energy-saving solutions.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and support junior engineers in their development.
- Sustainability Knowledge: Familiarity with UK carbon reduction policies, net-zero initiatives, and energy efficiency standards.
- Full UK Driving License: Required for site visits and client meetings.
