Salary: £70,000 to £75,000

Spec: Heavy experience on Groundworks.

Job Summary: 

We seek an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a robust background in groundworks to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost management, contract administration, and financial control specific to groundwork projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
  • Conduct detailed measurement and valuation of groundworks, including excavation, foundations, and drainage.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage subcontractor relationships.
  • Monitor project costs, identifying and managing risks to ensure profitability.
  • Prepare and submit accurate interim valuations, final accounts, and variations.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Provide cost advice and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a significant focus on groundworks.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations specific to groundworks.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
