Carpentry Quantity Surveyor

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Carpentry Quantity Surveyor to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of carpentry projects, ensuring their successful delivery within budget and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

– Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for carpentry projects, considering materials, labour, and other expenses.

– Procure materials and subcontractors, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring timely delivery.

– Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, identifying and addressing budgetary concerns.

– Collaborate closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure carpentry works meet quality standards and client expectations.

– Manage contract variations and claims, resolving disputes efficiently and effectively.

– Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, identify potential issues, and provide solutions.

– Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting project performance and areas for improvement.

– Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, promoting collaboration and trust.

– Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations related to carpentry works, always ensuring compliance.

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Carpentry, Construction Management, or a related field.

– Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in carpentry and joinery projects.

– Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and costs.

– Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

– Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as Excel and construction estimating software.

– Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive and solution-focused approach.

– Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is advantageous.

– Flexibility to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.

Salary Range: £60,000 – £100,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
