Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Linby. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overhead expenses.
- Monitor project costs and expenditures, tracking variations and identifying areas for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, measure quantities, and evaluate work completed against contractual obligations.
- Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and change orders with contractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications, valuations, and final accounts in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
- Provide financial forecasting and risk analysis to support project planning and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project finances, including cost reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying and construction cost management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and project delivery processes.
- Proficiency in quantity take-off, cost estimating, and cost control techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, building positive relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of relevant software tools and platforms, such as Excel, AutoCAD, and construction cost management software.
- Professional accreditation or membership with relevant industry bodies (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable.
