Press Brake Operator

Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of hydraulic CNC-controlled press brakes in a just-in-time fabrication shop with some assistance provided. He/she may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required. This is a cross-functional position within the Fabrication department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate a hydraulic press or punch for routine established work.
- Select the correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance.
- Load, install and correctly set up the tools required with some assistance from supervisor/lead.
- Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
- Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work.
- Make routine decisions and use problem-solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
- Report and document basic material, production, and quality control issues.
- Maintain performance logbooks on assigned area equipment and report deficiencies to the maintenance team.
- Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have strong metal press forming and a basic fabrication background.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
- A basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication, hydraulic press, and/or punch operations, including basic set-up, is desired.
- Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn precision measurement tools.
- Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
- Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance.
- Previous experience with overhead crane use is desired.
- Ideally, you should have the ability to operate a forklift.
- Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, hard hat, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing.
Additional Information:
- Working 7am-4pm Mon-Thurs, and 7am-12 noon Friday.
