Mailroom Supervisor (Post-Press MSO)

Position: Permanent 

Work shift pattern: 40 hours per week –  Four Nights (plus Days as and when required)

Job Introduction

To ensure all Post-Press production objectives are achieved within the scheduled timeframes and by the most efficient means. To coordinate and oversee the smooth running of the Mailroom operation and to ensure that the Post-Press resource is allocated to meet the needs of production Provide Support across working areas to ensure all deadlines are achieved. Working with the Production and Engineering teams to ensure all operator maintenance schedules are achieved.

 Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support across all areas of the Mailroom to ensure all production deadlines are achieved
  • Develop and train staff members to ensure they are working to their full potential
  • Ensure the Mailroom operates smoothly throughout production ensuring any issues are flagged to production management
  • Work closely with management monitor providing feedback on issues and areas for improvement
  • Optimise operational efficiency through effective people management ensuring elevated levels of morale, team welfare and development
  • Maintain production through leadership and supervision to ensure all production deadlines are achieved
  • Take responsibility for actions and make decisions appropriate to the level of authority and expertise
  • Communicate in the most appropriate way to ensure continuity of work across all shifts
  • Provide accurate written reports and maintain daily administration associated with the role as required
  • Plan, prioritise, organise and delegate appropriately to meet work time constraints
  • Minimise waste and increase operational efficiencies
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure all equipment is kept in good condition by carrying out preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, and general cleaning as per maintenance schedules
  • Support production including working in other areas of the business
  • Provide Cover for the Mailroom Manager in absence

Primary Roles

  • Set up & operate Muller Martini Newstack, Underwrappers, Flexi-Roll system, Newsliners, Newstrim and Newsgrip with basic level fault finding
  • Set up & operate Mosca Strappers, Dan Palletiser & Octopus wrappers with basic level fault finding
  • Set up feeders ready for production according to product size
  • Operate Lovaghy quarter fold machine
  • Drive/operate PPT for disc movements
  • Assist with hopper feeding duties
  • Replenish consumables on machines (Shrink wrap, Underwrap & Strapping)
  • Pack labels and subscription copies as required
  • Assist with recycling ensuring the correct receptacles are used
  • Housekeeping duties

Job Requirements

  • Able to run all equipment up to the standard of a trainer
  • Supervisory experience of managing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility with a willingness to move between work areas as required
  • Good organizational skills and able to work independently using own initiative
  • IT competent and able to utilise all reporting and recording formats
  • FLT & PPT license
