Job Description:

A field-based role, working from home.

You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing and repairing fume cupboards/Laminar flow cabinets and own in-house ducting, installation and commissioning engineers.

Ensuring the delivery of excellent standards of service to new and existing customers.

This role primarily serves the area advertised with the intention to return home each day, but when working on an installation, it is likely to require overnight accommodation from time to time. Once fully trained, the Engineer will work mainly independently but sometimes with colleagues. All work closely with the project management Team and report to the Field Operations Manager.

The Person:

You will have proven experience in an installation & service role and communication and interpersonal skills. Be customer-focused with a strong problem-solving / fault-finding ability, self-motivation, and drive. An electrical bias or proven knowledge is essential with an installation & / or service background.

The candidate must have a full (ideally) clean driving licence & ability to pass both Enhanced DBS & police authority checks.

Experience:

  • To qualify for the upper salary, the applicant must have (ideally, three years minimum) experience in installing & testing fume cupboards & / or Class I / II safety cabinets & / or LEVs.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Installing new equipment, including PVC/Polypropylene Ducting and welding.
  • Providing scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance/servicing on fume cupboards, Class I & II safety cabinets & LEV systems.
  • Calibrating/validating, modifying and commissioning Systems
  • Providing post-installation training for customers
  • Perform on-site risk assessments.
  • Computer literate (all reporting carried out on laptop)

Qualification / Cards:

  • NVQ in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 16th / 17th Edition Electrical.
  • P601.
  • GCSE in Maths and English at grade C or above/equivalent
  • Operating within an ISO9001:2000 environment
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Basic IT skills – working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word / Excel).

  • DOP.
  • KI Discus.
  • P601.
  • IPAF / PASMA.
  • CSCS.
  • SSSTS.
