Position Overview:

We seek an experienced Estimator to play a vital role in our pre-construction team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects, from initial concept to tender submission. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
• Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and pricing materials, labour, and equipment required for each project phase.
• Collaborate with the project team to understand requirements, constraints, and value engineering opportunities.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in bid proposals.
• Prepare detailed and comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and other relevant documentation.
• Present and defend estimates to senior management and clients, effectively addressing queries or concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, including revisions and updates throughout the bidding process.
• Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to inform estimating practices and strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a minimum of X years experience.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Degree or certification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
