Position Overview:

We seek an experienced Estimator to play a vital role in our pre-construction team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects, from initial concept to tender submission. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and pricing materials, labour, and equipment required for each project phase.
  • Collaborate with the project team to understand requirements, constraints, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in bid proposals.
  • Prepare detailed and comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and other relevant documentation.
  • Present and defend estimates to senior management and clients, effectively addressing queries or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, including revisions and updates throughout the bidding process.
  • Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to inform estimating practices and strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a minimum of X years experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Degree or certification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
