Job Description:

We seek an experienced Estimator to join our team in Surbiton. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, accurately assessing project costs and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes. While experience in the healthcare or education sectors is preferred, candidates with a strong background in construction estimation will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand client requirements and develop comprehensive proposals.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify material and labour costs, subcontractor quotes, and other factors affecting project expenses.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and ensure precision.
  • Present cost estimates and proposals to senior management and clients, addressing any queries or concerns as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, including assumptions, methodologies, and cost breakdowns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on healthcare or education projects preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
