We are currently working with an established Electrical & Security services contractor looking for an Electrical Project Manager.

The client is based in East London and has been supplying Electrical & Security services to a wide range of clients, for 50 years. They have grown from a small family-run company to an established highly respected SME.

Their client base ranges from bluechip companies such as a premier league football club to government institutions including educational facilities which range from Universities, Schools, NHS Hospitals, critical research labs, buildings, and local authorities across London. They also carry out work for a vast range of commercial and private businesses. They currently hold term contracts for both Electrical & Security services.

Due to the rapid growth of our business, they are now looking for a new member to join our Project team to help them support their current client base and continue our growth plan within their target markets.

Most of their current works fall within the North and East of London, Essex and the southeast of England areas.

The successful candidate must have experience demonstrated in the Electrical Industry sector. Including the interpretation and implementation of electrical designs, quantifying of materials, customer engagement and project management. 

The role will be to collaborate with their close-knit experienced team of existing estimators, electrical & CCTV project managers and H&S Manager to meet their current client needs, while helping with the company’s goal of achieving new client growth.

Key Skills• Understanding their company goals and helping to achieve them• Working under their senior project manager to achieve the client needed outcomes• Defining the technical requirements and feasibility of a project • Outlining timescales, costs and resources needed to design and deliver an electrical operations project • Making sure the work follows strict health and safety guidelines  • Following all works regulations • Developing detail project plans/programs• Managing direct labour and sub-contractors on each project• Ensuring each stage of the project happens on time, on budget and to a high standard • Sharing regular progress reports with the client and stakeholders • Resolving any issues or delays • Working in an office or onsite where needed • Experience in value engineering projects to supply cost savings to the client and offer a competitive advantage.• Experienced in working within multi-industry sectors (domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors)• Experience off problem solving• Accurately quantifying material, plant, and labour requirements• Ability to negotiate the best tender price from suppliers, wholesalers, and subcontractors• Ability to determine the necessity of site visits to understand buildability and risk.

Role• Experience working on electrical projects ranging from £20,000 – £1,000,000.• Working either at their primary office in Leyton or remotely as needed.• Working on term contracts, full specified projects, and design & build works. • Making sure deadlines are met.• Understanding project terms and conditions.• Representing & conducting one to one meetings with the clients.• Preparing off project documents including downloading/printing documents/ specification/ drawings etc.• Take offs from drawings, interpretation of specifications/drawings to project needs• Dealing with wholesalers/subcontractors for quotations, and making sure they meet the requirements of the project• Track outcomes of project performance and review benchmark requirements• Conducting site quotations where needed for existing clients working with our project management team• Project/contract handover to operation team as needed• Will work to help them deliver their long-term commercial goals as they grow• Company team meetings to review company needs and goals 

Qualifications/Knowledge:• Electrical City & Guilds / NVQ• 18th Edition (preferable)• Qualification of electrical engineering HNC preferred but not essential• In-depth knowledge BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations• A sound understanding of Construction Design Management (CDM)• Excellent communication and presentation skills.• Strong negotiator skills• IT Skills: Microsoft Office (to include Advanced Excel)• CCTV and Security industry experience/knowledge would also be preferred but not essential as training can be given.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent. Monday to Friday

Must have proven previous experience as an Electrical Project Manager

Based within a commutable distance from London, Essex and the southeast of England

Salary – Competitive and Negotiable

Holiday entitlement will be 24 days per year plus bank holidays
