CNC Turner

Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 + plus shift allowance
Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking to work for a more established local manufacturing business? Do you have a passion for precision engineering, an excellent understanding of the turning process, and the ability to work with tight tolerances and surface finishes? Our client is a long-established business that specialises in manufacturing low-volume, high-quality, tubular and threaded components for various sectors, including the Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Defense industries. Due to continuous expansion, we are actively hiring an experienced CNC Turner to expand our engineering team.
Experience Required:
- Proven time served experience in programming, setting and operating 2 axis turning machines.
- Ability to write new CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision.
- Experience programming using ‘Manual Guide i’ software.
- Experience programming using G codes.
- Also, editing prewritten programs, the full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, feeds.
- Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
- Producing one off, as well as low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals.
- Excellent working knowledge of 2 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
- Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
- Experience of Fanuc controls would be advantageous.
- Have a strong working history within the manufacturing industry within a machine shop environment.
- Have a hands-on, quality driven, positive, self-motivated manner in order to be able to hit the ground running.
- Confident in working on parts up to ¢300mm x 3m in length, using lifting equipment provided as some of our work can be large. Hoist training will also be provided.

- Salary depending on experience, range £32k-£38k per annum (late shift will have a premium of time plus a third)
- The position is full-time and permanent, and an immediate start is available.
- Day Shift Hours are Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 2.30pm.
- Late Shift Hours are Monday – Wednesday 4.30pm – 3.30am, Thursday 4.30pm – 1.30am.
- Holidays are 28 including Bank Holidays + extra bonus holiday days over the Christmas Period, to ensure a full shutdown.
