Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Carpentry Quantity Surveyor to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of carpentry projects, ensuring their successful delivery within budget and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for carpentry projects, considering materials, labour, and other expenses.
- Procure materials and subcontractors, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring timely delivery.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, identifying and addressing budgetary concerns.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure carpentry works meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Manage contract variations and claims, resolving disputes efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, identify potential issues, and provide solutions.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting project performance and areas for improvement.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, promoting collaboration and trust.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations related to carpentry works, always ensuring compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Carpentry, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in carpentry and joinery projects.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and costs.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as Excel and construction estimating software.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is advantageous.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.

We are seeking motivated site installation operatives to join our fantastic team based from our Dartford offices.
We are a steel and pipework fabrication and installation company based in north Kent. We predominantly work on client-run sites within the Clean and Waste Water Industries throughout South East England.
You must be competent, safety-aware, and able always to use your initiative and work well within a group.
The job scope includes working with a team to install pipework, general steelwork, access platforms, and various mechanical packages for the industries, including routine maintenance work as required.
Good rates of pay and regular overtime within flexible remuneration packages.
CSCS / CPCS registration is essential, as well as a clean driving licence.
A confined space qualification and telehandler and PASMA training would be a great advantage, although training can be provided to the right candidate.
Working hours: 40 hours a week, plus regular overtime, including occasional weekend work
Due to the nature and location of work, the successful applicant may be required to stay away overnight.
Pay depends on knowledge and experience, starting at £15.05 per hour (PAYE), within flexible remuneration packages.

Senior Mechanical Working Site Operative Required

- Attend client/resident meetings when required to explain reports that have been issued and the implications of the findings.
Remedial Works

- Liaise closely with the clerk of works and the contractor and carry out compliance checks of the works as they progress.

Job Description:
Our client is looking to hire a full time permanent Mobile Mechanical Engineer. The position is within in the Sutton, Surrey area.
The company has been running since 2003 providing Technical M&E service support to the Commercial Building Maintenance sector. We run a small team of highly skilled mobile engineers covering London, Greater London and South of England.
The role is to provide a variety of general maintenance and reactive services and corrective works on buildings, plant and site
Skills and experience:
Essential that you have experience working within plant rooms and have excellent communication skills. Full current driving licence with no more than 3 points.
The successful candidate should ideally possess the following:
- A sound knowledge of mechanical engineering and the ability to carry out planned and un-planned safety inspection and maintenance work on mechanical plant and associated equipment in accordance with FSG20 and the like.
- To have completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold a recognised qualification e.g. City & Guild, BTEC, NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline as a minimum qualification.
- Experience of selecting and installing a wide range of pipework types and systems.
- The ability to read and understand schematic drawings in order to carry out effective fault finding and diagnostics.
- Experience of working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Electrical principals appropriate to actuation of mechanical systems and plant.
- Experience of working with pumps (DOL and inverter driven) and capable of undertaking fault finding / repairs when necessary.
- Experience of Health & Safety procedures relevant to engineering activities and the safe handling of heavy equipment.
- Willing and able to work in a varied, multi-skilled role, assisting other trades as and when required.
- Experience of PPM systems of work.
- Produce details of time and materials required for any minor works for quoting purposes.
- Ability to provide job updates and reports in a timely fashion, including all necessary technical detail needed to enable correct remedial works when required.
