Job Description:

As the BIM Manager, you will oversee implementing and managing Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and technologies for our high residential projects. You will collaborate closely with project teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants, to ensure the successful integration of BIM into all stages of project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing BIM execution plans, standards, and workflows to streamline project coordination and information exchange.
  • Providing guidance and support to project teams in BIM software applications, including Autodesk BIM 360, Navisworks, and other relevant tools.
  • Leading BIM coordination meetings and facilitating clash detection and resolution processes to enhance project efficiency and reduce risks.
  • Managing BIM models and databases, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders, such as contractors and subcontractors, to establish BIM requirements and coordinate model exchanges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conducting regular quality control checks on BIM deliverables and enforcing compliance with company standards and best practices.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and BIM advancements to improve project outcomes and efficiency continuously.
  • The models need to be delivered as-built/as-constructed and field-verified. Point clouds and laser scanning methods will verify and update the model to its As-Built condition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum [10] years of experience in BIM management, preferably within the residential construction sector.
  • Proficiency in BIM software applications, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD (Aconex is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of BIM standards and protocols and their application in project delivery (e.g., ISO 19650, PAS 1192 standards and specifications).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing BIM processes and technologies on complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience in BIM coordination and clash detection, including familiarity with coordination software (e.g., BIM 360).
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes relevant to high residential projects.
  • BIM certification (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) is a plus.

Skills, Knowledge and Understanding

  • Conduct Fire Risk Assessments both internally and externally in line with current industry guidance and compile a detailed report. 
  • Provide CPD to clients, making them aware of their obligations as building owners. 
  • Peer review reports from other Fire Engineers where requested. 
  • Work with the project team to produce cost-effective, pragmatic remedial solutions where possible. 
  • Attend client/resident meetings when required to explain reports that have been issued and the implications of the findings.

Remedial Works

  • Work with the project team to compile the ER’s. 
  • Peer review the contractor's proposals 
  • Liaise closely with the clerk of works and the contractor and carry out compliance checks of the works as they progress. 
  • Attend site progress meetings when required.

Job Description:

Our client is looking to hire a full time permanent Mobile Mechanical Engineer. The position is within in the Sutton, Surrey area.

The company has been running since 2003 providing Technical M&E service support to the Commercial Building Maintenance sector. We run a small team of highly skilled mobile engineers covering London, Greater London and South of England.

The role is to provide a variety of general maintenance and reactive services and corrective works on buildings, plant and site

Skills and experience:

Essential that you have experience working within plant rooms and have excellent communication skills. Full current driving licence with no more than 3 points.

The successful candidate should ideally possess the following:

  • A sound knowledge of mechanical engineering and the ability to carry out planned and un-planned safety inspection and maintenance work on mechanical plant and associated equipment in accordance with FSG20 and the like.
  • To have completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold a recognised qualification e.g. City & Guild, BTEC, NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline as a minimum qualification.
  • Experience of selecting and installing a wide range of pipework types and systems.
  • The ability to read and understand schematic drawings in order to carry out effective fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Experience of working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Electrical principals appropriate to actuation of mechanical systems and plant.
  • Experience of working with pumps (DOL and inverter driven) and capable of undertaking fault finding / repairs when necessary.
  • Experience of Health & Safety procedures relevant to engineering activities and the safe handling of heavy equipment.
  • Willing and able to work in a varied, multi-skilled role, assisting other trades as and when required.
  • Experience of PPM systems of work.
  • Produce details of time and materials required for any minor works for quoting purposes.
  • Ability to provide job updates and reports in a timely fashion, including all necessary technical detail needed to enable correct remedial works when required.
